KTDC’s Hotel Samudra in Kovalam won the award Best Two-Star Hotel and it Periyar House in Kumily, for the best hotel in One Star section.
Coconut Lagoon, Kumarakom, Kottayam was adjudged the Best Heritage Hotel. Somatheeram Ayurvedic Hospital and Yoga Centre, Chowara near Kovalam was selected as the Best Approved and Classified Ayurvedic Centre in the State and Tranquil, Kuppamudi Coffee Estate, Wayanad the Best Approved Homestay. Rainbow cruises, Alappuzha, was adjudged the Best Approved and Classified House Boat Operator and KTDC’s Motel Araam, Krishnapuram, Kayamkulam, the Best Motel/Wayside Amenity Centre for the second year. Wedding in Kerala Travel Planners, Thiruvananthapuram, was adjudged the Best Innovative Tourism Project and Vagaom Hideout Resort, Vagamon, Idukki got the award for the Most Eco-friendly Tourism Project. The award for the best Performing District Tourism Promotion Council went to Kannur. The award for the Best Tourism related article went to S. Anil Radhakrishnan, Senior Reporter, The Hindu, Thiruvananthapuram and Venu Nair, Thiruvananthapuram won the award for the best tourism-related documentary. The award for the Best Tourism Police Personnel went to Raju N. of South Police Station, Alappuzha. M. R. V. H. S, Kasaragod and St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Telicherry bagged the award for the Best Tourism Club Award. K. V. Ravishankar, Editor, Tourism India’s (Malabar Tourism Handbook) was chosen for the award for the Best Tourism Publication/Brochure. |
