Showcasing new destinations and products in the tourism sector, the four-day Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) will be inaugurated here later this Saturday evening by chief minister, V S Achutanandan.

Union Tourism minister, Ambika Soni will be chief guest at the function at the fifth edition of the mart, in which about 970 domestic and 570 international buyers have registered so far.

Fifty countries including Australia, UK, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia will be represented at the mart, besides delegates from Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, UP, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Goa, the organisers said.

Seminars on Showcasing the Responsbile Tourism Initative will be held tomorrow and a Rural Tourism conference on Sept 23.

On Sept 22 ‘Looking Beyond’, a book by Hugh and Colleen Gantzer, will be released by Amitabh Kant, Principal secretary, Industries.
