You can apply for registration at the place you were married and also at the place you are staying now. In Mumbai it is very easy all you need is a solid address proof in Mumbai for at least one of you. Either one of you own a flat, or have a Ration Card or have the Mumbai address on your passport.
Remember … rent agreement don’t work, Mumbai driving license don’t work, and neither bank statements.
